As the weather warms more and more anglers start thinking about stalking streams and rivers for trout. Here in the Northeast, we are blessed with numerous world class trout waters. One of the best of these waters is the Delaware River. The River’s East and West Branch produce some of the best trout fishing in the world. John is from Vermont and we took a little bit of time to get to know about his bait company as well as his Vermont fishing. He finished as Angler of Year for his club, Central Vermont Bass Club, so the guy knows how to fish.
Well Lake Champlain and Vermont aren’t the first places I think about when thinking about hot spots for Crappie fishing. The attention from National fishing articles focuses on the amazing largemouth and smallmouth bass fishery of Lake Champlain. But Crappie bass? Then I found the Instagram page of Dylan Smith and saw that this guy catches a lot of crappie and some very big crappie on Vermont waters including Champlain. Dylan was kind enough to take some time to fill all of us in on his approach to Crappie fishing on Lake Champlain as well as the Connecticut River in Vermont.
Loren Smith is a New Hampshire angler that had a lot going on in 2016. He got engaged. He won his first fishing tournament. He fished a ton and caught a lot of big bass. I immediately concluded Kyle Richardson was spending a lot of time crossing the border and going on fly-in trips to Canada’s best trophy walleye waters. Well, I evidently was wrong. This guy is catching these big walleye from 2 Vermont fisheries. And Kyle spends a lot of time filling us in on how to walleye fish The Green Mountain State.
